You realized in the past (mid 2019 I think it was?) that maybe, just maybe, it would be helpful to add Tags that were location/local conditioned based like hardiness zone 5, Massachusetts and New England. Some crappy day when it’s no good to work outside, go back to the older posts and add that stuff when it makes sense to do so. Continue reading “Note to Future Me #12”

The other bits that help the garden grow.
2020 Site Change Plans, January edition
During the 2018-19 off season of gardening, I had inside projects to do, and lost time being the kind of sick where you mostly do what must be done rather than what you’d maybe prefer to spend time on doing.
I had higher hopes as this season’s off time arrived, and then my partner got hit with a heavier workload which meant I had to cover more than usual. That’s eased off, so I’m now trying to at least knock off some of my To Do list (which is awesome to behold). Continue reading “2020 Site Change Plans, January edition”
In the year 2019 for Growing in Gardner…
…a lot has happened here, both online and outside our home. Bad: Ultimately, I did not convey nearly as much here on this site as we actually did outside. Good: We did manage to get a lot more done outside this year than we did the last two. Hooray for progress! Continue reading “In the year 2019 for Growing in Gardner…”
Busy as bees
This year has been more hectic than I ever anticipated, both in and out of the garden. Although I have continued to take garden notes and pictures, I have not had time to polish them. If you haven’t noticed, I have been trying to at least regularly update this year’s planting list.
As I write this, it’s raining yet again, hence my having time to write. If it wasn’t, I’d be out pulling up all the purple loosestrife that is now plaguing the front yard. Continue reading “Busy as bees”
Late additions
It got quiet around here for a bit. What happened was I had a reaction to something and it took me a while to realize what was going on, and also to seek medical attention once realized. This has not been a fun year, medically, for me. I’ve got toes and fingers crossed this will be the end of a bad stretch. (Don’t think I’ve been this sick this long since college!) Note to Future Me #11
Stop dithering and either make two small leaf bins, or figure out how to make the time to clear out all the tiny saplings for the larger spot you and your partner picked but haven’t made time to clear yet. I’ve already put too many leaves in the compost, though I did at least make sure to make them somewhat easy to take out later. Sorry about the dithering! Do better than current me, please. [Later Note: Woo! Done!]
Garden Growth–18th April, 2019
We didn’t get as much rain as early as I expected, which worked out because that gave us time to set up one of the rain barrels. The air was still damp, which added a chill to the near 50°F temperatures. Continue reading “Garden Growth–18th April, 2019”
Garden Growth–14th April, 2019
Crazy busy day, and might have gotten more done if not distracted by a family phone call. It was still very productive, and I have a film crew in town that ran over schedule to thank for that–an event held on location was waylaid giving him more time to work with me today. Continue reading “Garden Growth–14th April, 2019”
Site Change: the sidebar gallery
Last year I started the site in late March, and when I later added the slideshow gallery of the office window views, I just kept adding images as a new office window view post was added. Continue reading “Site Change: the sidebar gallery”
